Taking terrorists alive is nothing but a hassle. You gotta lock em up, feed em three squares. If you interrogate them to try and extract that valuable information, everyone bitches that the prisoner isn't getting enough sleep, or has to stand up too long. Then you've got to pay for a trial where your terrorist gets access to your court system and it's lawyers. Then you start to look bad to the rest of the world because your mean to the terrorist and.....it's just one big hassle, much easier to shoot em. :)
