Jefferson never said it wasn't, and to that matter why is that even part of
the argument. I don't care about terms, the idea is still there was
something bigger, that created man, and that upon creation instilled in man
certain rights specifically life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Jefferson went on to say that governments are instituted to secure these
rights.

Yes, we have created laws that allow us to take away a persons rights,
however we have said that to this require due process.
