That they wanted to make a profit by selling an unusual designed car to young buyers for low cost? It worked. As to aerodynamics, 99% of the time these cars are tooling around the city at less than 50 mph and I'd guess even at highway speeds they still get better mileage than an SUV. I don't like 'em either, but then I think Harleys are big overmarketed noise boxes. I don't like SUVs much either. We could apply the same standard. You know what the worst is? You're stuck in traffic because some slow moving fat a55 Navigator is blocking your path to speed. I HATE those things.
