It's gorgeous. Love the underwater scene. But I don't like the idea of the splash page. Hate splash pages in general. And, it seemed a wee tad slow to me. It's hard to tell if the content area would be squished with no content in there. My gut says it's okay, though.
I don't know if it says "band site" to me. But, I'm not sure that a band site for calypso is going to be much like the band sites I typically see - particularly one that's focused on carnival. (So, is it a female band?)
