I can see the need for the scroll menu. The thing that bothers me is having to try to click on a fast moving button.
If you start the scroll going, and move your mouse down out of the scroll window, it keeps scrolling until the end. If it would just stop when my mouse went out of the scroll window, I would have a better shot at clicking on the item of my choice. Can you make it stop scrolling when I drag my mouse out of the window? Oh wait. It scrolls even if I'm not over the window. Huh. I think I'd be OK if it "slid" into place faster, like a two switch setting, without the slow down/speed up based on distance from center. Or a button to move the menu left/right.
