And is it the XPS with the desktop P4? Because I know the newer versions have the Pentium M in them and have had an average battery life of 3-4 hours in most of the reviews I've read.
Good luck fighting the good fight, but 10k is a lot to most individuals, but not much to Dell. We were a reseller for years and with orders of 10-20 machines at a time, it was more of a hassle and usually more expensive to deal with their people than just to order them up off the website.
