I'm not so sure this is true or that the US would invade to begin with. The Israelis have proved in the past that a bombing run on a nuke plant is very effective. > Here's an example: If I was Iran and thought America was about to > invade I'd put up all kinds of defenses like trenches, etc. and then > leave them empty. Iraq tried the trench strategy in the first Gulf war and it failed miserably as the US army has excellent counter-measures. 2. I highly doubt that Iraq has enough arms to supply millions of citizens and that the citizens would generally take up arms. > As leader I'd never be captured and more than likely I'd have my > country back in a month. Saddam hid for a while until greed for a big reward sold him out. I think that most leaders would be caught after a while. > There's no way America can sustain a 3 > country insurgency without killing a LOT of civilians. > Probably not but that is asuming that we would invade which I kind of doubt. > Now, if we were willing to level the country, that'd be different ... > You don't need to level Iran or N. Korea to be effective. The current fiasco in Iraq was due to our goal of ousting Saddam. The goal in Iran or N. Korea would be to eliminate nukes or nuclear capability which requires an entirely different strategy than invasion.
