In the US we have a thing called capitalism which says that, as a business, you deliver the product the customer wants to buy. The "press" happens to be a business. Whatever is in the mainstream American media directly reflects the demands of Americans and thus proves a free press. On the day that the American public decides it wants to read about foreign affairs there'll be a flood of FA periodicals.
