that's the bottom line, isn't it. She puts a human face on our losses, one they tried to deny by preventing pictures of caskets from getting into the media. I have no idea what I would do in her situation, though "lose my mind" is the phrase that surfaces.
Sure, it's an emotional appeal, and sure, it fails to take into account many geoplitical realities. But it makes it much harder to ignore the fact that we are bleeding soldiers over there, and for what?
