Actually I think we could pretty effectively destroy North Korea militarily, 
but they would wipe out most of South Korea before we could do anything about 
it. That is the reason we have never used military action against NK. Bill 
Clinton even considered military strikes against them in the 90's, but 
ultimately he faced the same problem all post-Korean conflict U.S. president 
have faced- the prospect of millions of dead South Korean civilians. 

More importantly, has the U.S. ever fought a conflict with a free, democratic 
country? North Korea is a slave state that has killed millions of its own 
citizens. They would love for us to wipe out Kim Jong Il and his cronies.   

You have it all ass-backwards about who the good guys are and who the bad guys 
are.
