My personal feeling is that all of that is crap. It is not the
solution to anything.

Just as you cannot force an alcoholic or junkie to change, you cannot
force someone to want peace. They need to take the first steps
willingly and on their own. Until they do, anything you try to do will
not help, and will probably make the situation worse.
