Hi Everybody,
I've been charged with designing a media streaming solution for an
enterprise network. Because of the computer images in use on the
network, I've already ruled out Real Media and Quicktime. So, it comes
down to the pros and cons of WMV vs. Flash video.
The solution will be used primarily for CBT and web application
training. I have a lot of experience with Flash and Flash video, and
have a lot of ideas on how to integrate the video with the application.
It all comes down to streaming. Bandwidth is real concern on the
network, so I need to dole it out accordingly. I've called Macromedia
regarding Flash communication server, and got passed around a lot before
anyone knew anything about it. That shot up a red flag for me and made
me wonder if Comm Server was a backburner product with little support.
Has anyone here has good Flash Comm Server experience? Has anyone
had to choose between that and Windows Media Services? I'd love to back
the Flash side of things, but I want to make sure that the server
software has what it takes. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!!
Eric
