I think VW is much better than they used to be. I was never a fan of the rather spartan interiors with lots of exposed sheet metal construction of the old rabbits and bugs and such.
On the flip side, I think they're a bit overpriced now. They're good cars, but they're not so much better than a Honda or Mazda IMO that warrants the inflated used prices I see. Around here a used VW goes for about $2k more than the others. Also, I find that the Jetta styling seems to feel old faster than other cars. The Passat holds up a little better. It's probably because the styling on the Jetta is a little more pronounced, but that may be changing. The new 2005 Jetta style looks very similar to the Toyota Corolla body to me. For interiors, I'd choose the fabric over the leather in a VW. I've tried both and the leather is hard and uncomfortable. While Audi and VW may share engine designs, the leather quality is worlds apart. -Kevin On 8/19/05, Ray Champagne <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > anyone out there own a VW Passat or Jetta, 2001-2004? > > My wife hath fallen in love with them, and wants to buy one.
