The governor's of Louisiana and Mississippi asked for and received federal declarations of emergency BEFORE the hurricane made landfall. The governor requested 40,000 troops in a press conference TUESDAY morning. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama were declared federal disaster areas MONDAY night.
The attempt by the spinners in the Bush administration to blame this on the local and state officials is sickening.
