The irony being that St. Valentine was according to legend shot to
death with 100 arrows or so and with gradual change over the
intervening years that's how we get the "cupid's arrow" thing now.

Wasn't there a St. Valentines Day massacre in the 30s? A bunch of
mobsters gunned down in somebody's garage...
