Those are really great stories. Mine was far more romantic. I was
stationed at the Presidio of Monterey studying Korean for the US Army
when I met my wife. Well, she wasn't my wife at the time but she is
now...but that's a different story...no wait...it's this
story...anyways, some friends and I were driving around when I saw her.
She was roller blading down the street with a friend of hers and she had
just fallen down. She looked like God had put her on the Earth just for
me. I knew I was in love from the moment I saw her. We pulled up to
see if she was ok. She asked if she had any dirt on her butt and I
replied ever-so-lovingly, "No, but it's big enough!" I laughed and
laughed, she swore at me. She called me "asshole" for the next 6 months
until one day, the planets all lined up just for us. We ran into each
other at a bar...I was drunk....she was drunk....I told her she had a
nice ass...she called me a pig. The rest is history. We we're married
a year and a half later.

Good times!!

PS - This is really what happened!

  Congrats...

I have a story too. I meant my wife on my birthday, October 12, 1985.
 I
was at a national church convention it was Saturday night. Her aunt
went to
Bible School with my mother so when I was walking the halls that night
before the evening service I ran into them and her aunt introduced us.
 I
asked her to sit with me. We talked and talked... after church we
drove her
aunt and a friend who was with them home and I met her mother. Then
we went
back to the conference and walked around outside. I told her where I
came
from in Boston, MA there were not many girls of our religious view
point.
She said, that if I came down she would introduce me to some. I told
her it
only takes ONE to marry. The next day I had to fly home. On the
airplane I
told my dad that I believe she was the one I was going to marry. On
Nov. 3,
1985 I asked her to marry me. Our wedding was on June 14, 1986. One
other
neat fact my oldest son was born on Nov. 3, 1988. We are still
happily
married. Not to say we have not had arguments however we are happy.
We
wish we could have stayed in Texas but we will learn to like it here
in
Louisiana. Also my wife is still in Texas letting the kids finish
school
there. Once they get out for Christmas then she will bring them down.

There Erika... it is not the amount of time that keeps one together
however
the decision to love each other even when times get tough. Love is
not the
Puppy dog feeling more of a friendship that lasts even when you know
what
the other person is really like.

Feeling good today... but missing my baby,
  Nathan
