Ah... dat's schweet! ;^)

It all seems rather odd to me honestly... these "breakthrough" moments in
relationships. All very sitcom-ish... well, perhaps not that cheap or
superficial, but something similar.

I mean we've all seen (over and over) the sitcom plots about:

1) The horrors raised by somebody saying "I love you" for the first time.

2) The emotional mayhem that follows a relationship's first sexual
experience.

3) The rapid decline of sanity surrounding marriage proposals.

I honestly don't clearly remember any of those events in my life... they all
seemed to come rather naturally for us (and the people that we know).

We do have stories, of course. I actually bought my wife's engagement ring
under the influence of Codeine and fever because I thought, at the time,
that I was going to die. In the end it worked out: she got a much better
ring than we had originally planned.

But that wasn't the "proposal". We already kind of worked that out -- the
ring was just a formality.

I mean no disrespect: good for people like this. But I'm just wondering if
we're somehow "odd" because these events well, just weren't "benchmark
events" for us.
