I think that many people would find this action to be in the best interest
of other passengers, and therefore it's actually good press.

the airline has every right to bounce anybody for any reason they'd like.

of course, they also have to deal with the repercussions in the form
of negative press (unless you subscribe to the theory that there is no
bad publicity).
