Well, you can cast spells, beat on beasties, solve mysteries, wander 
around randomly....

If you like open-ended games, it's something like the epitome thereof. 
Personally, I thought it was a bit *too* open-ended, and left me without 
a sense of direction, but I seem to be in the minority.  Which makes me 
think I should try it again.
