But what does that have to do with choice. We might restate the choice into Catholic speak - - note subtle change in text below. Even changing the text, it is still opposing one's will on another. God doesn't impose his will on others why should I have to? God gives us the ability to make choices, we then assume responsibility for those choices. Why should I have to mandate what you can and can not do in order to be Catholic, a good Christian or whatever?
So God gave us free will. Essentially saying, I want you to do good, do what's right etc.. however, I will allow you to do what you want, and be responsible for your own decisions. I will not force you to do my will.
