Looks better than the original. Some ideas I'd try on the splash page. Could you get rid of the padding/margin at the top of the page? Stretch the menu at the top all the way across? Also the black market street inn logo, could you get rid of the padding around it, and stretch it, it's just sort of hanging out there.
I really like the rest of the site a lot.
