I'm more or less in the same situation as Mike. I'd love to ride my bike to work. However I have to drop off the ankebiter at daycare and come home at lunch to take care of an ancient ferret (this old guy we're fostering is around 7 1/2 years). While everything is within an easy bike ride away, I cannot see strapping Alexis onto the back of the bike and taking her to daycare like that in the winter.
