I think I've got the best/worst of these stories. A guy and girl who'd been "cyber dating" finally arranged to meet. Apparently, the guy had been BS'n to her the whole time (several years I guess), sending false pictures, telling lies about his lifestyle, etc.
His solution? He had his friend call her and tell her that he had died in a car accident on the way up to see her. She was devastated.....felt responsible for his "death" etc...... When she finally tracked down his mom to try and tell her how sorry she was.........well.....the fit hit the shan, as you can imagine.
