No one is persecuting gays and lesbians? Look at the stats put out by the FBI on hate crimes, there are thousands of incidents of attacks on people just because they are homosexual. And these stats represent only reported crimes.
BTW 200 years ago blacks couldn't marry - according to the laws and legal writing at the time it was something they've never had the right to do so. Up until the 60's interracial marriages were also illegal in many states, same reason given. larry.
