I would have to say I can't think of a situation where I would give up my
British passport. Not for American citizenship or citizenship anywhere else.
As for having an American passport, I imagine there would be times when it
would be downright inconvenient to have one, such as when I visited Cuba
last year. Again, from fairly extensive travelling experience, I found a
British passport helped massively in terms of ease of entry into a country.
Again, I would name countries such as: Cuba, Vietnam, Singapore, India. Of
course, there may be countries where a British passport could be a negative.

My own take on the issue is that I would rather not give up my Canadian
citizenship. There are definite advantages having a Canadian passport over
an American one. Not the least being is that the general perception is that
Canada is the nice guy of the world, as opposed to the idea of the US being
rather bellicose. I've been in a few situations in the past where being
Canadian got me out of some trouble, when it became clear that I was
Canadian and not American.
