Sounds like BS. I would want to know who is doing the investigation? What organization do they represent? It should be a legitimate law enforcement organization, Local Police, Sheriff, FBI, etc.. I would not co-operate with anyone other than those public law enforcement organizations. If you are innocent you have nothing to fear but identity theft, so be careful of what information you provide and to whom.
