I saw a special on the Green River killer once where a police officer made the point that if someone does this, he definitely isn't taking you to someplace where you will be *safer.* I though this was an excellent point and remember telling Lara this to much eyerolling.
I am looking through the sex offender website andI have found a 23-year-old that seems to match the description and does not live that far away... worth asking if they want me to show her his picture or if they want to find out where this gentleman was yesterday. Going to look through the rest of them just for fun. I do think that they are right in saying that he probably just said he had been watching her to scare her -- she was coming back from a spur of the moment run to the store and he came from the opposite direction so he didn't follow her.
