Personally I would go with the single server. If you can try to tie in with 
the apps, if they are simple don't spend too much time trying if you can 
re-write them faster.

Can it be done in two months? sure! why not?

One thing I have had to do in the past was develop a session management 
system. I had to tie a few different system together and the easiest way to 
do that was to develop a session system that used the same database to keep 
track of everything.
