Two months shouldn't be too bad. I rewrote an entire extranet application
(that was built using ASP) in about a week using CF (10 sub applications and
tons of file uploading...) You'll find CFSCRIPT to be invaluable when doing
this since you can mirror many of the VBScript actions in CFSCRIPT. The
beauty is all those functions that you need third party objects to
accomplish in ASP, can usually be done natively and with less code in CF.

Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Subject: Can it be Done by March 1st?

ok, we just had a firm re-alignment

i was told yesterday that a new intranet needs to be in place by march 1st.

i am in charge or the east intranet.
done in CF, has about 30 small to mid size apps i have built.

on the west coast they use asp.
they have about 15 apps they have built.

i was told that they agree CF is the way to go to quickly merge the 2 site
into one seamless app.
now, can this be done in 2 months?

if so, should i re-write there apps using cf, or just tie into them?

what are your experiences with doing this.

i am flying out to Seattle on the 7th, to strategize ion this.

at the very least we want to have all current, pertinent content converted
with the new style
& one consistent look.

but on a larger scale what would be the best way to do this right.
have the 2 servers both running cf server ent & mirror the content.

or to have 1 server that all offices tie in to?

if i was to mirror data on both coasts, how would i go about maintaining the
content?
if something changes on one server how do i auto update it on the other!

"oops, i crapped my pants."
