So far it appears the taxes have been paid in years past. We'll see if they get paid this year. The thought is that the state will take the house and sell it to pay for the mom's care, if she's still alive. I'm sure they're not going to let her go back home.
Of course, even if they sold it for unpaid taxes, whomever bought it would probably have to tear it down. Yee ha. If it goes cheap enough, though, I might buy it and gut rehab it (in a hazmat suit, thank you very much).
