In that part of Canada, perogies, cabbage rolls and kielbasa is
considered food like Nana made.

I don't have an eastern European background, I just grew up in a
neighbourhood where the wasps were the minority, and Ukranians and
Poles were in the majority. It made for some wild holidays.
