Yes, but the logic tree here isn't that large.  Either the Iraqis want
us or they don't.  And either they need us for security or they don't.

The policy question for the US is what do we want?  If it's a secure
Iraq, then we should lobby for getting more troops in to secure the
country.  Given they want us, no problem.  If they don't, then we get
to test your "it's us" theory.

If we want an end to deployed troops, then we pull out and screw the
consequences (which will be great).
