This is the most ironic part: The US has some of the same government-religion issues even as it fights zealots abroad. There are many Americans (Religious Right) that feel that government's role is to enforce their morality rather than to protect their rights. You'll often hear something similar this sanctimonious argument: "You want to remove all references to God." They've gotten themselves lost as to government's role and they've forgotten that, in the US, the gov't exists to protect their rights to worship any God they choose. But that goes for everyone else too. They don't want to admit that the US government is agnostic. So, for example, you've got the controversy of saying "Merry Christmas" (as the US is historically mostly Christian) versus "Happy Holidays". For me, I think it's perfectly acceptable for a Christian to say "Merry Christmas" to anybody - unless they hold gov't office and representing the people when they say it. Then it should be 'happy holidays'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:188138 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
