update on this - Lara (dd13) just gave a big thumbs up to Blood Brothers' Feed Me to the Forest. While Mr Bungle is interesting we are thinking it's maybe a bit too strange for two kids from Ottawa who are handicapped by having my sister for a mother. Danger Doom meets all criteria but does not seem to be American. The search continues....
