All excellent ideas.  BTW your trigger lock ideas reminded me of
another.  Schmidt was saying one way around bullet regulation would be
to steal them.  So how about this:

Let's say your guns/bullets were stolen because you didn't have them
properly secured.  Then you become an accessory to the crimes
committed with them.

That would be a little incentive to make sure your guns were locked up.
