Well, after he created Narnia then the animals popped up out of the earth. As they came up he touched pairs of them on the nose and they could talk. However I don't remember the part about the others being for hunting. The don't remember him touching the cabby's horse either, but maybe he did ... I dunno. I seem to remember that the cabby, the horse, and the kids were far back watching Aslan do the nose touching. But maybe the horse had approached and the people came forward afterward. I also wondered why the boy just didn't grab the witch and take her back to the Wood Between Worlds where she was weak. And if Aslan could pull people from other worlds why not just put the witch back to her own world? Although I suspect that's part of the lesson (and the Deep Magic :) Either way, it's a trifle, because it's a great story. I especially like the Magician calling the witch a, "dem fine gel.
