First Theo Epstein, now Johnny Damon. JD to the Yankees, say it isn't so! What the fork are they going to get for the god-damn 3 million dollars a year that they saved by not signing probably the second best leadoff hitter in the game right now? I feel cheated by Johnny. G, I now agree with you that he can go screw himself, and I hope he chokes with the Yankees. I feel cheated by the Sox brass. Why are you systematically destroying a World-Championship team? To save a few bucks? Screw that! You're not ever going to be a Florida-type team with a 50 million dollar payroll, so just suck it up and accept that fact. The Sox will always be the second highest payroll team, and will always be second to the Yankees because they will always do this payroll dance: Sign high-$$$/profile players, be competitive, then scale back and dump all those same players to the Yanks (or Mets or Dodgers or Angels), and the team will perform like shit for the next two years, until they start signing up big name players again. Fuck 'em. I want to burn all of my Red Sox stuff (and I have a lot) today.
