What does George Carlin say? If you have selfish, ignorant voters....you get
selfish, ignorant leaders. Garbage in, garbage out.

However, i'm not quite ready to say "blame the voters". Yes, it's a travesty
that more people aren't informed about the issues or people they are voting
for. But.....where does that excuse blame for the guy who was elected? He's
still the one breaking the law. Even ignorant people should be able to
expect other people to follow the law.

It's one thing to vote in a guy who isn't very good at the job...it's quite
another to have that guy start breaking the law.

This will never change. If you want to win an election, appeal to people
emotionally. Forget the issues or your ideas. Put on the best circus, get
elected.

Democracy requires a certain level of trust for those in power. The idea
being....we put them there, we should trust them! But we've already
discussed the obvious flaw in that idea.....

Circuses aren't cheap.
