The lines that *are not* using DSL should have filters if they're connected
to a device. The line that has the DSL modem on it should be unfiltered.

When DSL Is brought to a residence all lines in the house are DSL hot. The
filters are used when an analog telephony device is connected to the line.

Connecting an unfiltered analog device can screw up the syncing on your
modem. I had a TiVo device connected to an unfiltered line and my modem
wouldn't sync until I filtered the TiVo line.

Subject: Verizon DSL?

I have a client who is having intermitting connection problems and when I
spoke to a VZ rep, she indicated that ALL telephone lines in the house MUST
have filters regardless if they are the LINE that runs the DSL modem.

Such as, the client has 3 different telephone LINES with different telephone
numbers coming into their house.

1. DSL & FAX Line

2. Husband's personal line

3. Wife's personal line.

Did I mention, they are 3 different copper telephone lines.

Now I can understand that a filter is needed between the wall jack and the
Fax machine but not required any other place.

Has anyone else heard this???
