He's proclaimed his profound respect for Casto. There need be no more than that. > Because the WTO and the IMF say that Chavez has done more to cut > poverty in that country since he has been in power than any other > leader. > Hitler did the same for Germany, Casto's done the same for Cuba. The quickest way to cut poverty, BTW, is to shoot the poor people. > Since when does one need to embrace unfettered Capitalism in order to > 'progress'? > Since the day Man discovered greed. As long as there's greed only those socio-economic systems based on capitalism will provide an egalitarian society. One left-leaning variance that seems to work, for example, is at work in Scandinavia. While taxes are high, so are profits as the gov't stays mostly out of business as compared to, say, France. In France it's virtually impossible to fire someone which discourages hiring and therefore raises the unemployment rate. Norway, for example, has no such restrictions. Consequently there's a lot of churn in businesses with the gov't taking over unemployment and providing training and placement services. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:190720 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
