read The Blue Book of the John Birch Society by John Welch, not the
recent printings, but from the late 50's or the 60's.

Also in Alan Stang's book published by the JBS, It's Very Simple: The
True Story of Civil Rights, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. is portrayed
as an agent of a massive communist conspiracy to agitate among
otherwise happy Negroes to foment revolution, or at least promote
demands for more collectivist federal government intrusion. Another
book promoted by the JBS is None Dare Call It Conspiracy by Gary Allen
- it is heavily anti-semetic.

Public Eye.org has a fairly good summary of the JBS at
http://www.publiceye.org/tooclose/jbs.html.
