Gel:

With all due respect, I'll be the first to admit that, while you may
never have explicitly said that you hate Americans, I've certainly
inferred from the tone of many of your posts that you do hate
Americans (or America itself). If I've been wrong in that, I
apologize.

But even as you explicitly state that you don't hate Americans, you
follow that up with a blanket statement that begins with "Here we go
again".

If your "Here we go again" was aimed at one specific poster (or a
handful of specific posters), that's all well and good and I'll just
shut up and go about my Friday evening. But it seems to me that
you're suggesting that all Americans are going to automatically leap
to the conclusion that just because you disagree, you're unpatriotic
or an America Hater.

You're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone (regardless of
nationality, ethnic background, religion, beer preference, etc). But
you make it sound as if the fact that you disagree with any given
American policy (or the opinion of any American citizen) means that
ALL American citizens are going to label you.

That's simply not the case.

Hell, 90% of the people on this list (more specifically, 90% of the
American people on this list) have disagreed publically with the
policies of our current President, or the policies of many high-level
decision-makers, or just disagreed with the opinions of other
Americans who have expressed an opinion.

You're not being labelled based on any specific opinion that you've expressed.

-IF- you're being labelled, it's likely because a large majority of
your posts are critical of America or American policies or the way
American authorities handle a given situation (the bipolar guy getting
shot in the airport leaps to mind).

If every now and then you'd maybe say that you agree with something
that's related to America...maybe people wouldn't be so quick to think
of you as anti-American. But (and I speak for only myself here), I
don't recall seeing anything even remotely "pro-American" come from
you. So yes...I would have to say that if you (or anyone else) asked
me whether or not I thought you hated Americans, I'd respond with yes.

But it's not based on any one opinion that you've stated. It's based
on everything that I can recall you posting here.

And again...if I'm incorrect in that, I sincerely apologize.

Charlie
