I suggested a note since it would be quiet and under the harrassment
radar.  Keep it out of the company email system.  Don't sign your name
to the note.  In fact, print it out so there is no handwriting.

Just him seeing you hand him the note is good enough.

If he dropped the note and someone else found it, it remains anonymous.

This basically protects you up front.  Once he does succomb to your
charms, so to speak, you can laugh about it and be glad that you made
the move.

I don't think it's lame at all.

In all seriousness... a note isn't lame?  I guess it easily lets him
ignore it if he's not interested / can't because he has a gf.
