Hi Jim,

I went with IAQSource.com and negotiated. I got the Thermastor Santa
Fe, the duct kit, the filter and charcoal, the remote humidstat, and
.... well just about every option except the pump. It was $1250.

Then at Home Despot I got 50' of 6" flexible ducting for one inlet, 5'
of 8" ducting for the main inlet, and 25' of insulated ducting for the
outlet. I insulated the outlet because I wanted to preserve the heat
of the unit to give the basement a bit extra warmth.

Installing it was a piece of cake - except for the remote humidistat.
If you can't read a wiring diagram I'd get someone who can or an
electrician as it's house current powered. I just used lamp cord for
the install.

Anyway I just stuck the thing in my furnace room right behind a wall.
I cut a hole in the wall and put in the main inlet. The secondary I
route over the ceiling into our sump room. For the outlet I ran the
ducting to the other side of the room and punched a hole in the wall.
I put a slimline vent in along the baseboard and put a deflector that
shoot the air up.

Other than that, I just plugged it in and turned it on. It took about
30 minutes to get our basement from 58% to 35%.

Also I leave the blower on at all times and that keeps the air moving.

Congrats on the new house!!
