A good high school buddy of mine was a cameraman on Dune. According to
the shooting script I saw it was slated (and shot) as a 3 hour movie.
But the studio insisted it be cut down to just over 90 minutes. From
what I remember of the script, the 3 hour version would have been far
superior to the released version.
