Nup... I'm not giving anymore money away to MS.  It'll no doubt mean
upgrading the machine, and a heap of other software on it... I'll stick
with NT4 until I can get the time to put CF on my Linux server.

I finally resolved it anyway... a AU$29 network card had it working
again.  Much cheaper than a few hundred for a new OS... plus a few
thousand in time spent getting it installed and working!
