So now I'm on the last disc of Firefly. And well, I'm pissed off that
the series never made it past the 1st season. Damn that was a good
show.

BTW, I'm definitely taking the flu shot next year.

You'll never get King if you just watch the movies, and not read the book :)
Dreamcatcher was a fantastic book that deals more with the bonds of
friendship between 4 people, and the special friend they all shared:
Duddits.

Mr. Gray was simply the alien. Mr. Gray took up residence in Jonesy's mind.
He picked all his information from there....including his voice. The voice
he chose was one Jonesy used when mimicking an uppity British fella...hence
the accent.

Duddits was indeed an alien. Problem is...we aren't told what kind. Was he
the same race as Mr. Gray? Dunno for sure. But he was most certainly sent
long before Mr. Gray, with the express intent of stopping the invasion at
the right time. King likes to leave this benevolent force unspoken......but
it's a "God" like figure.

Duddits leads Jonesy into his accident because....something about being
dead, then brought back to life...is what gave him the ability to resist Mr.
Gray in some parts of his mind.

You really need to read the book. This is the book that King wrote while
laid up in a hospital bed after he was struck by a car while walking along a
road in Maine. A vast majority of the book takes place in the mind....which,
while laid up in the bed, was all that King had to work with. It's really a
fascinating type of story telling. (well, to me it is :)
