He can tap your phone if a terrorist is calling you. He can tap your phone
if you are a terrorist calling another terrorist within the United States.
He should, and probably will, tap your phone if you are calling a terrorist
abroad. Bottom line is, don't call terrorists.

How many people are affected by any "legal" phone tap? Ok... The Feds want
to tap my phone and they get a warrant to do so. Do they need to get a
warrant to tap everyone that I call or are their conversations with me
covered under the warrant? Here's a hint, it's the latter. They may be
completely innocent of everything, yet their civil liberties are being
crushed by their association with me.

I'm with Robert and Sam... I have no issues with them going after the
communications networks of terrorists, be that in Bahrain, Yemen or Iowa.
As long as they're complying with the 72 hour post tap warrant activity, I
have no issues whatsoever.

So draw the line. Where do the President's powers and "necessary tools"
stop?

Can he tap your phone because a terrorist was spotted with a surf board?
Can he have you followed? Can he detain you?

Maybe we should toss you in Leavenworth until the "war" is over is as a
"necessary tool" for our security. I'm sure you won't mind. After all,
whining about your rights is so bureaucratic.
