He can tap your phone if a terrorist is calling you. He can tap your phone if you are a terrorist calling another terrorist within the United States. He should, and probably will, tap your phone if you are calling a terrorist abroad. Bottom line is, don't call terrorists.
How many people are affected by any "legal" phone tap? Ok... The Feds want to tap my phone and they get a warrant to do so. Do they need to get a warrant to tap everyone that I call or are their conversations with me covered under the warrant? Here's a hint, it's the latter. They may be completely innocent of everything, yet their civil liberties are being crushed by their association with me. I'm with Robert and Sam... I have no issues with them going after the communications networks of terrorists, be that in Bahrain, Yemen or Iowa.
