I remember when I was working for a dot bomb. They had us in this really
funky office building in Culver City. The air conditioner for the
programming area was controlled by another company's office space in the
same building.

One day the sales manager (who brought her dog in all the time) decided to
call one of those mobile grooming places to groom the dog. He connected in
through the window into a socket inside the programming area. 5 minutes
later (BOOM). All lights, servers, etc were down for the rest of the day.

Ahhh the bad ole days.

Gel-

Don't laugh!
For several years if we used the microwave without turning off the switch on
the coffeepot, and the refrigerator cycled on, it would blow power to half
the plugs in the office (in a double-wide trailer). Took us a long time to
get it fixed. And right after that they moved us to the admin building.
Somehow, sending an (in-house) electrician to fix something in our office
got "lost" in the paperwork pile compared to fixing the things that actually
make money in the plant. <sigh>

ROFLMAO!

That sounded so funny for some reason :)

"Whats that those people are talking about? The coffeepot took out the
power again?"

LOL!

Are electricians hard to find where that office is located? :)

No deadlines, of course. But the db and the webserver mysteriously
stopped talking
together again. Get in car. Drive over here. (Brief stop for carryout
from Taco Hell.
Yuck!) Restart webserver. Nope. Restart coldfusion. Yup. Okay. "Well,
while I'm here may as well do the normal stuff. Hmmm. Funny that. The db
seems to have restarted itself at 11:15. What's that those people are
talking about? The coffeepot took out the power again? Brilliant."

Whee.
