Well, Sarajevo Yugoslovia is probably the closest we've had. It was part of the Ottoman empire as recently as 100 years before the Olympics, and it had a very large Muslim population.
I think at this point, Muslims may be a majority in the city, but I don't think they were at the time of the olympics (I seem to remember a pretty even Croat/Serb/Bosniak split at the time, much ballyhooed at the time as a model of integration) On 2/7/06, William Bowen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Summer games > > > Winter Games > > Seems the answer is a resounding no. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:196244 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
